“J & R Racing Continues Working their Way to the Top”

J & R Racing Team Journal
July 28, 2001

J & R Racing returned to the Concord track Saturday, July 28, 2001. It was a muggy and humid day, but overall the team had a descent day at the races. Although the car did not run that well in qualifying, it did perform well during the race.

J.P. Morgan started the 150-lap race in the tenth position battling for the first 20 laps with Shane Brafford. Once J.P. passed Brafford, he set his sights on the front runners. By lap 95, J.P. had fought his way up to 3rd place.

Unfortunately, after one of the seven cautions, Dean Ward, driver of the 04 car, spun J.P, sending him to the rear. J.P. battled back to claim the 4th position only to be spun by the 04 car yet again. However, J.P. drove right out of the 360 earning him the Cool Move of the Race award. After being sent to the rear the 2nd time, J.P. finished the race in sixth place.

All in all the J & R Racing team feel they had a good race. The car only needs a few dents knocked out, a little bit of a cleaning and the team is ready for next week’s race. The silver car is almost complete as well. The team is waiting for a couple of steering parts, but it should be ready to roll by Wednesday.

J.P Morgan and his team will return to the same track next Saturday for Concord’s 50-lap race.
