SOUTH BOSTON ANNOUNCES COMPETITION RULES CHANGESouth Boston, VA....Starting with the May 20th event at South Boston Speedway, the rules for competition and qualifying in all NASCAR Weekly Racing Series divisions will be changed to provide for more competitive racing. In the event that a single driver wins two races in a row, that driver will not be allowed to start any higher in the field than sixth. This change will not affect a driver that qualifies sixth or lower. "We want to ensure that racing here at South Boston Speedway stays competitive", says Cathy Rice, General Manager. "Our fans expect to see the best drivers in local competition and our drivers deliver. We also want our drivers to know that they have the opportunity to win here and that their efforts are appreciated. We're not taking away from a driver that wins, we're just making those wins much more exciting." South Boston Speedway is making family entertainment affordable at each and every weekly event. Currently, Sheetz Convenience Stores are offering $2 discount coupons good for each weekly event at the gate. Fans can also secure Pit Tours and Pit Passes if they wish to get a behind-the-scene perspective. VIP Suites are also available for purchase by the general public.
