South Boston, VA……..With it's 2001 season at full speed, "America's Hometown Track" takes to the television airwaves with its Textilease Weekly Racing Series and NASCAR Featherlite Modifieds on April 16th and 19th.

The first show, airing at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16th, will showcase the NASCAR Featherlite Modified 200 and the Textilease Late Model Division HOMEMAX 150, conducted on March 11th.

The second show, airing at 7:00 p.m. on April 19th, features the April 7th Textilease 100 for South Boston's legendary NASCAR's Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division.

Each broadcast will be carried on Comcast Sports Network (formerly known as Home Team Sports). DIRECTV will carry the telecast on channel 629. TV Guide subscribers should note that both telecasts are listed as the HOMEMAX150.

American General Finance will serve as the sponsor for South Boston's next event, scheduled for Saturday, April 21st. Featured divisions will include Pure Stock 4's, Rolling Thunder Modifieds, American General Limited Sportsman and Twin 75's for the Textilease NASCAR Late Models.

April 21st will also showcase the first of two HOMEMAX Student Challenge events, with six area High School teams racing Sir Richard Go Karts for HOMEMAX Championship bragging rights.

Gates open at 5:00pm, with the first race at 7:30pm. Adult tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the gate. Young adults, 10 - 15, pay only $5, and kids 9 and under are free.
