Classic Field Set For 12th Annual Southern All Stars World Classic At Mobile

MOBILE, AL—The Southern All Stars Asphalt Series will wrap up the 2001 season this weekend at the Mobile Int’l Speedway in the 12th Annual World Classic 200. The weekend will consist of practice on Friday night November 2nd from 4 p.m. till 9 p.m. Saturday November 3rd will be local division racing feature the Modifieds, Super Stock, and Mini Stock along with qualifying for the Southern All Star cars, then on Sunday afternoon November 4th will be a 12 lap motorcycle event at 1 p.m. with the 12th Annual World Classic set to start at 2 p.m.

Ricky Turner of Dawsonville, GA, has claimed his second straight series title in 2001 as he David Hole of Cumming, GA, and Jason Hogan of Cleveland, GA, have battled throughout the season for the championship, but Turner has came out on top again this year, but Hole and Hogan still have to settle their final spot in the final points standings. Ronnie Sanders of Fayetteville, GA, is currently 4th in the series standings and in 5th is the 2001 GRIPP Tire Prep Rookie of the Year Champion J R Norris of Hueytown, AL, Wayne Willard of Dacula, GA, is 7th, Mike Langston of Marietta, GA, 8th, Jeremy Rice of Royston, GA, 9th and Johnny Brazier of Lickskillet, AL, is currently 10th in the series standings and all are expected to be in action this weekend

Drivers from all across the southeast have entered this event including 1994 SAS Champion Dan Beddingfield of Huntsville, AL, Tim Baker of Mobile, AL, Clay Brown of Mooresville, NC, Charlie Bradberry of Chelsea, AL, Scott Carlson of Pensacola, FL, Tim Fryar of Chattanooga, TN, Bob Green of Pascagoula, MS, Bobby Hill of Jefferson, GA, Wolfgang Holhchuh of Hamburg, Germany, Dale Little of Foley, AL, Bobby Gill of Dalton, GA, Wayne Anderson of Wildwood, FL, and Steve Howard of Greer, Sc, just to name a few.
