Six Races, Six Faces in Victory Lane at Lanierby Jeff HoodBraselton, GA (May 12, 2001) - The sixth different race winner in six = weeks emerged in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Budweiser Pro Late Model division at Lanier National Speedway Saturday night. Lanier's 2000 late model champion Tony Bennett dominated the late model event as he led all 50 laps enroute to victory. Jamie Stephens, Jr won the Sunclear Water Qualifying Award after turning a lap in 13.962 seconds during time trials. Stephens rolled a two during the inversion process which put Bennett on the pole. And Bennett was prepared to capitalize as he cruised to victory in the caution-free race. When asked in victory lane if he was frustrated that it took so long to win this season, Bennett responded saying "we could have won last week. We just got caught up in something that shouldn't have happened. We hadn't won as soon as I thought we would, but a lot of cars have won that didn't win last year too." George Williams, Jr fended off a late race challenge from Mark Caudell to put his No. 36 Chevrolet in victory lane in the Akins of Winder Pro Truck race. Kevin Stephens collected his sixth consecutive victory in the Simpson's Trucking & Grading Sportsman division. Stephens sat on the pole and led all 30 laps as he held off Chris Wingo. Thomas Ross made it two wins in a row in the Sunoco Ministock class with a two-second victory over Jason Bates in the 25 lap race.
