GATORADE TO SPONSOR ALL PRO SERIES

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb 13, 2001) - Officials for the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing announced today that Gatorade, the Official Sports Beverage of NASCAR, has joined NASCAR Touring as the title sponsor of the sanctioning body's Southeastern based asphalt late model series, making it the Gatorade All Pro Series.

The Gatorade All Pro Series is one of nine regional touring series that complete the NASCAR Touring division. It is based in the Southeast with 16 races at 13 racetracks scheduled during the 2001 campaign and is one of four nearly identical asphalt late model touring series sanctioned by NASCAR that compete throughout the nation.

Manufactured by Chicago-based The Quaker Oats Company, Gatorade is the nation's leading sports drink, with U.S. sales of $1.5 billion in 1999 and an 80 percent share of the sports drink market nationwide. Backed by 35 years of research, Gatorade is scientifically formulated and athletically proven to quench thirst, replace fluids and electrolytes and provide carbohydrate energy to enhance athletic performance. Gatorade is the official sports drink of the NASCAR, NFL, NBA, WNBA, Major League Baseball, US Soccer and numerous amateur and youth sports organizations, associations and events throughout the world.

"We are pleased to announce Gatorade's involvement with our All Pro Series," stated Tom Deery, vice president, NASCAR. "Their presence throughout the United States offers a new level of prestige to the All Pro Series and it will reach thousands of fans and competitors throughout the Southeast. We are enthusiastic about their participation and they are a welcome addition to the NASCAR touring series family of title sponsors."

Gatorade is one of only two sponsors (Anheuser-Busch being the other) involved with each of NASCAR's 13 series. Its Gatorade Front Runner Award program stretches from the NASCAR Winston Cup Series, the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series to NASCAR Tourings' nine series and into the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series.

"We are very excited to be associated with NASCAR and the Gatorade All Pro Series," said Scott Paddock, sports marketing manager for Gatorade. "The series is a great addition to our entire program with NASCAR and we look forward to continuing and building our relationship with the number one form of motorsports in this nation."

The 2001 Gatorade All Pro Series schedule, which runs March through November, includes events at some of the Southeast's leading short track and superspeedway facilities in Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, Kentucky and Virginia.

The Gatorade All Pro Series joins the Featherlite Southwest Series, Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series and the RE/MAX Challenge Series in NASCAR Touring. The four series combine to create the scope of four regional asphalt late model touring series with nearly identical rules that offer competitors events that gain regional and national exposure throughout the nation.
