Quotes from Caraway

LateModelStock.com visited Caraway Speedway in the rolling hills of beautiful Asheboro, NC on June 9th. We asked several drivers how their season has been going so far. This is what we were told:

I think the season's been going real good for us. We brought our older car out that we had run last year and the year before. We finished second with it, had a real strong run and led a lot of laps with it.

Then we brought the new car out and we finished second back to back with it. Hopefully we'll get a win tonight.

The new car is extremely good and Danny Cox has got me some great horsepower. I don't think there is a better engine out here.

As far as chassis-wise, I don't think there is a better chassis then this Autocraft.

We've had some good race cars and we've had some bad luck. Last week we thought we had turned it around but then we dropped a motor this weekend. But that's part of it and these boys just don't give up.

The beginning of the season I led the first 150 with three to go and blowed a motor. Next race - broke the spindle. Next race - broke an axle. So last week I was hearing every noise that the car made but we came through and I think we are all right now.

We haven't run that much this year. This is our first time out. We're trying to get a little more seat time and maybe in the future we'll probably run maybe eight to twelve races this year.

It's got to the point where the big shows are the only ones I can go out to. Without a sponsor, cost-wise I can justify just running the big shows.

So far we've been up and down, really. We had a crash in the beginning of the year that set us out for about two races. We got it back together and ran third a couple times and got up to fifth as well.

The past two weeks we've been fighting a push. The car's been pushing real bad and we ain't been able to get it up to the front.

It felt better tonight but it's still got a push coming out of the corner. We'll work on that and try and get that
out of it. Once we get that, we'll be
right back where we were.
