“The Reidsville Rocket” Returns To Victory Lane

Allred Captures First Late Model Super Truck Victory of the Season

Asheboro, NC (April 21, 2001) – The Late Model Super Trucks competed in the first of sixteen events at the speedway. Randleman’s Buddy Allred turned the fastest lap and after a mandatory redraw of the top six started on the pole. Allred went on to lead all 50 laps of the event taking home the victory over second place finisher Joe Hiegl of Raleigh. Champion Archie Adams Jr. of McColl, S.C., Jeff Adkins of Trinity and Shannon Bryant of Thomasville rounded out the top five finishers.

In the 50 lap NASCAR Late Model Stock event Billy Hogan of Troy, known as “The White Knight”, captured his third consecutive Pole Award and earned $100 in bonus money. Jason York, known as “The Reidsville Rocket”, blasted into victory lane for his second victory of the season over second place finisher Jerry “The Jet” Burr of Asheboro. Third place finisher Hogan protested the heads, crankshaft and intake on York’s car. After a lengthy inspection, York was found legal. Brian King of Gibsonville and Steve Loftin of Thomasville rounded out the top five finishers.

In the 30 lap Limited Late Model event Dale Trotter of Asheboro captured his second Pole Award of the season. James Triplett of Lexington captured his first victory of the season over second place finisher James Boling of Randleman. Casey Kepley Jr. of Winston Salem, Brandon Hire of Lexington and Clay Campbell of Martinsville, Virginia rounded out the top five finishers.

In the 15 lap Mini Stock event Rodney Creason of Asheboro and Kenny Bost of Lexington each captured a heat race win. First place finisher Joe Roberson of Thomasville was disqualified after he refused to let official tech his engine giving the victory to Creason. Rich Hunter of Advance, Junior Kendrick of Thomasville, Randy Slater of Colfax and Tony Cox of West End rounded out the top five finishers.

In the 15 lap Super Mini Truck event first place finisher Kristin Loveland of Randleman was disqualified after she refused to let officials tech her engine giving the victory to Waylon Saunders of Asheboro. Stephen Brodie of Martinsville, VA, Lisa Collins of Asheboro, Kelly Spencer of Kernersville and Steven Collins of Asheboro rounded out the top five finishers.

In the first U-Car feature Noah Skeen of Greensboro captured the victory. Michael Skeen of Greensboro, Donnie Lewis Greensboro, Leann Welborn of Randleman and Nick Freeman of Sophia rounded out the top five finishers.

In the second U-Car feature Ryan Davis of Randleman captured the victory. Shane Hunt of Greensboro, James Riveland of Siler City, Lee Self of Greensboro and Ronnie Carlisle of Greensboro rounded out the top five finishers.

In the third U-Car feature Wayne Craver of Lexington captured the victory. Danny Helton of Denton, Chad Coggins of Trinity, Dwayne Richardson of Thomasville and Ray Craver Jr. of Lexington rounded out the top five finishers.

Coming up this Saturday Night will be the 5th Annual Carquest Road To Charlotte Invitational featuring a 150 lap NASCAR Late Model Stock event. Also on hand will be 30 lap Limited Late Models, 25 Lap Legends, 20 Lap Super Sport, 15 Lap Mini Stock and U-Cars. Grandstands will open at 6PM.
