Caraway Speedway Hosts The “Bailey’s Season Opener 150” Saturday – March 24th

Asheboro, NC (Mar 22, 2001) – Caraway Speedway will roar to life for the 35th season of NASCAR Weekly Racing Series action on Saturday, March 24th, with the running of “Bailey’s Season Opener 150”.

2000 Champ - Jason York

Several top driver’s are scheduled to compete for the checkered flag. Champion Jason York, known as the Reidsville Rocket, will have a new paint scheme and sponsor. York will be driver the blue Bailey’s Late Model Stock car. Billy “The White Knight” Hogan of Troy, Stephen “The Grimey One” Grimes of Siler City, Jerry “The Jet” Burr of Asheboro, Jimmy “Mr. Excitement” Mullins of Collinsville, VA, Steve Loftin “The Chair City Charger”of Thomasville plus many more of the best Shortrack drivers will be ready to rev there engines for a 150 laps of action.

In addition to the 150 lap NASCAR Late Model Stock feature event, racing action is scheduled for the Limited Late Model, Super Sport, Mini Stock and Super Mini Trucks. Grandstands will open at 6PM. Pits and Backside gates will open at 2pm and the racing action will begin at 8pm.

Fans will be treated to several improvements at the speedway. The walkway to the grandstands is being paved and will be complete by opening night. Caraway Speedway was honored at the annual NASCAR Promoters Workshop in Daytona Beach with the “Top John Award” for having the best restroom facilities out of all the Weekly Racing Series Tracks.
