WADE DAY WINS FOOD CITY 125 ARA ALL-STAR RACE

COEBURN, VIRGINIA -- Wade Day and the Wolfe Racing Chevrolet Monte Carlo was the class of the ARA All-Star Late Model Stock Car field in the Food City 125 at Lonesome Pine Raceway. Day started the race on the outside of the front row and took the lead from polesitter Danny O'Quinn, Jr. on lap 18. Day cruised to the checkered flag uncontested.

"I made a right rear spring change just before qualifying and I'm glad I did because the car was good," Day said in the Victory Lane interview. "It was unbelievable."

Scott Kilby, the current ARA All-Star Series point leader, set the fastest time in qualifying with a 16.446 on the 3/8th paved oval. Opting for passing points, Kilby started the feature in sixth position.

"I hope I made the right choice," Kilby said just before the start of the feature.

Kilby finished third, challenging the second-place O'Quinn to the finish line. Westley Huffman and Stephen Leicht rounded out the top five.

Defending ARA All-Star series champion Greg Marlowe finished sixth followed by Frampton Ferguson, Keith Bumgarner, Tim Weaver and Allen Gordon.

The next stop for the ARA All-Star tour is Galaxy Kingsport Speedway in Kingsport, Tennessee, on Friday night, July 13. Time trials for the ARA Galaxy 125 begin at 6 p.m. with racing at 8 p.m.
