ARA Ownership to Change HandsAs reported on the ARA website: Columbia, SC (June 26th) - HMS, LLC and Winners Circle Promotions, headed by current ARA Competition Director Terry Treadwell, have reached a tentative agreement for the purchase of the American Racing Association and its Late Model Stock All-Stars and Southern Thunder Late Model tours. The deal will exclude the ARA Weekly Racing Series, which HMS, LLC will administer for the remainder of the season. The Dixie Lightning Pro Truck series, whose season had been suspended, will be cancelled. Yelton Completes Weekend Sweep by Winning at HickoryJamie Yelton pulled off what no one has done in over a year, since he last did it, wins at Tri-County Speedway on Friday and a win at Hickory Speedway on Saturday. After invading the ARA ALL-STAR Tour with a pole and winning on Friday, he continued his hot streak with his 2nd win in a row at the Historical Hickory Motor Speedway. What started out with Matt McCall on the pole with a strong 15:22 with Yelton on the outside with a 15:28. Matt took the lead for the first lap then Yelton powered by to lead by lap 2 and lead till the rains stopped racing on lap 6. After a brief stop, the racing resumed and Yelton kept the lead with McCall in chase. The pair had as much as a straight away lead over the 3rd place runner Setzer. With about 20 to go in the 75-lap feature, McCall was able to get inside of Yelton and the pair raced clean for the finial laps with Yelton winning by half a car length. In Victory Lane the excited Yelton gave credit to the hard charging McCall," Man he was strong and I really want to thank Matt McCall for racing me clean, he could have taken me out or both of us out at anytime but he really ran me clean, my hats off to him. And what about this crew, after the win last night to come back and start early this morning getting everything ready for tonight they never missed abeat. These guys are awesome, Mike L, Mike B, Danny, Josh, Aaron, David, Ken, Bill, and Jason, they never give up. And I want to thank KLB Racecars and RP Racing Engines, those two guys make this thing fly. My sponsors Everett Chevrolet, Sagebrush Steakhouse, Hair by Gina, PRO-BLEND, CAPS, Ci-Ci's Pizza, Merrow Ent. and my Mom and Dad. We got loose there at the end but we had enough horsepower to beat him back to the checkered flag. This has been a great weekend".
