Massey Wins Both Twin 50s

History was made this Friday night, Aug 3, at Ace Speedway as the Massey brothers, Todd & Mike, won 3 races on Adeco Employment night presented by Blue Bunny Ice Cream. Todd Massey from Haw River won both ends of the twin 50 lap NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Budweiser Late Model cars, while his younger brother Mike took his second win in the YMC Mortgage Super Stock race.

In the first 50 lap Late Model event, Massey started in 3rd and took the lead on lap 22 from early pacesetter Speedy Faucette. Fast qualifier, Richard Bailey came from 5th starting spot to finish second with point leader Brian King, Speedy Faucette and Mark Rumley completing the top 5. In the second race the top 7 were inverted. Jason York and Faucette both had a share of the lead before Todd Massey took the point on lap 23. Late in the race Massey fended off a strong challenge from Richard Bailey as the pair raced door to door for 3 laps before Massey pulled away for the win. Bailey finished second with Brian King, Mark Rumley and Keith Perry rounding out the top 5.

Mike Massey from Mebane, sped to his second win of the year in the YMC Mortgage Super Stock feature. Completing the top 5 were point leader Brian Owens, Jimmy Rice, Billy Radford Jr and Tony Smith. The Dave's Discount Furniture Modified race saw Jerry Scott from Corbette Ridge Va win his 44th career race. Bill Wilder, Roy Cook, Barry Garner and Steve Paschal made up the top 5. Billy Radford Sr from McLeansville, won his 3rd Kennedy Oil Mini Stock event. Radford came from 11th starting spot to take the victory over Trader Dunnington, Corey Agee, Donnie West and Stan Welborn in the top 5.

This coming Friday night, August 10th it the 100.3 the Buzzard night with races in all classes plus events for the Virginia Old Timers club and the Extreme Cars starting at 8:00pm.
