BRIAN KING/LEANN WELBORN TOP ACE SPEEDWAY WINNERS

The second half of the 2001 NASCAR Weekly Racing Series at Ace Speedway swung back into action this Friday night, July 13th as Brian King and LeAnn Welborn topping the list of race winners on Pax-TV Night. King from Burlington, NC won the featured race for the Budweiser Late Model Stock Cars while Welborn won the Extreme car race and became the first lady driver to win a weekly racing event at Ace Speedway.

In the 75 lap race for the Budweiser Late Models King started in third and took the lead for good on lap 61 of the race after Ricky Oliver, King, and Todd Massey all had a share of the race lead. Massey challenged King late in the race but his efforts fell short by several car lengths at the finish. Massey leads King by only two points in the battle for the 2001 track title. Jason York finished third. He was followed by Mark Rumley & Toby Tilley in the top 5.

This coming Friday night, July 20th at Ace Speedway Time Warner Cable presents the Leon Setzer-Terry Wiles Memorial Night with racing in all classes plus the 600 horsepower Super Dirt Late Models. Race time is 8:00.
