Massey, King Win Twin 50'sBrian King & Todd Massey Win Awesome RacesIt doesn't get any better than the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series action at Ace Speedway and this past Friday night, April 27th racing on Bill's Racing Souvenirs Night was one of best events ever seen at the Alamance County oval. Brian King and Todd Massey each won an awesome 50 lap race for the Budweiser Late Model Stocks before another huge crowd. The first Budweiser Late Model race found rookie Jerry Holyfield on the pole after the inversion of the fivefastest qualifiers. The first 30 laps saw 9 lead changes among Holyfield, Richard Bailey, Gary Causey, and fast qualifier Brian King. Causey and King swappedthe lead 7 times before King from Burlington, NC took the lead for good on lap 31. King had to fend off Causey's challenges at the finish taking his first win of the year by a scant three feet over Causey. Jason York, Mark Rumley & Richard Bailey. In the second 50 lap Budweiser Late Model race Todd Massey from Haw River, NC started on the pole after the inversion of the top six finishers in the first race. Massey quickly took command and had a sizeable lead until a rash of late race cautions bunched up thefield. King and Causey who charged from the rear of the field after being involved in an early race incident raced door to door and bumper to bumper with Massey in a finish that had the large crowd on their feet. Massey took his second win of the year by less than five feet over King with Causey close behind.Mark Rumley finished fourth & Speedy Faucette fifth. Jerry Scott from Corbette Ridge, NC won the Dave's Discount Furniture Modified race over Roy Cook, G.C. Agee, Kenny Bates, Bill Wilder, and Jimmy Wallace. Rookie Brian Owens from Burlington, NC won the YMC Super Stock race over Mike Massey, Don Cook, Brian Gray, & Billy Radford Jr. Billy Radford Sr., from McLeansville, NC won the Kennedy Oil Company Mini Stock race over Ricky Sykes,Donnie West, Corey Agee, Kevin Anderson & Mike Tester. Ray Craver from Lexington, NC won the Extreme Car race over Wesley French, Bradley Hayes, Jason Cook, Sam Faucette, Charlie Payne, and Adam Covington. This Friday Night, May 4th at 8:00 its racing in all classes plus the return of the Virginia Mini Cup Cars and the Kids Bicycle Races at 7:30 for children ages 6 to 13. Gates open at 5:30 with Late Model qualifying at 7:20 and racing at 8:00 at Ace Speedway, the Family Entertainment Center of the Piedmont.
